TransportationRole of the Public School District Bus arrangements are handled by the Minneapolis Public School District. The students must conduct themselves properly and respect the rights of others. The school bus driver is the authority on the bus and is responsible for maintaining order to ensure the safety of all passengers. Therefore, parents/guardians and students need to support the rules and guidelines regarding the safe transportation of students to and from school. Teachers are not responsible for student behavior on the bus. Classroom teachers are responsible for instruction and review of bus and pedestrian safety each year. Instruction and review materials appropriate to each grade level are provided to the teachers by the Minneapolis Public School District. Bus transportation is a privilege. Denial to ride the bus may be given for misconduct on the bus. Parents/guardians are notified when such action is necessary. Only bus students are to ride the bus. Students are to go home on their assigned bus and get off at their assigned stops. A student must have a bus pass if the student is going to be allowed to ride a bus that has not been assigned to the child. A request for a bus pass must be given in writing to the office at the beginning of the day. Transportation Form |
